Keown has gone for a scan today to discover the extent of the damage, but the club believe it's a very minor injury and the former Arsenal defender should be fit for next Saturday's visit of Coventry City.

But on a more positive front, Steve Sidwell looks certain to have won his fitness battle ahead of the trip to Elland Road.

Sidwell came off early in the 2nd half in last week's goalless draw with Plymouth Argyle after picking up a dead leg.

However, after a week of treatment and rest Sidwell will be looking to fire up his team mates ahead of a huge clash.

And it's looking good for Steve Coppell with Dave Kitson set to return to full training with the first team squad early next week.

The former Cambridge United front man has been out since damaging knee ligaments in the 1-0 win over QPR back in December.

The Royals desperately need Kitson back and to his best as his team-mates continue firing blanks in front of goal.

Les Ferdinand is yet to get off the mark at his new club while Nicky Forster has managed 2 goals since returning 6 weeks ago and Lloyd Owusu and Dean Morgan are failing to provide any decent competition. Shaun Goater won't be playing for the club for time being after Reading's refusal to pay him which activates a £50,000 fee to his former club Manchester City because his next game for the Royals would be his 50th for the club.
