Steve Coppell is set to give a debut to new sign Les Ferdinand upfront. Lloyd Owusu is favourite to make way for the 38 year old.

Graeme Murty is struggling with a knee injury picked up against Derby County on Monday and is rated 50/50. Andy Hughes may fill in at right back if Murty fails to make the game with either Bobby Convey or Paul Brooker coming in on the left wing. Coppell looks set to not make any unnecessary changes to the team. Steve Sidwell has recovered from a knock picked up and will be stand in skipper again if Murty fails his late fitness test.

Swansea come into the game with a number of injury problems with former Walsall midfielder Roberto Martinez still receiving treatment for an injury. Leon Britton is set to deputise along with Gary Fisken in the heart of the Swan midfield. Former Royal Andy Gurney looks set to start after returning from suspension and centre back Izzy Iriekpen formally of West Ham United should be available after picking up a facial injury against Rushden & Diamonds.

The defeat against Derby County on Monday was Reading's first defeat at home in the League this season. The Royals sit fourth in the League at present with 48 points.
