PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES

The star of the show was Dave Kitson who continued to show his class with a hat trick. 

Nicky Forster came back from injury to get on the score sheet, along with Ricky Newman and Shaun Goater.

The other Royals squad had a more tricky affair after struggling to overcome Conference side, Forest Green Rovers. A goal in the 79th minute from Lloyd Owusu gave Reading the win.

Although the result was not important, making sure the players had some competitive match football under their belts was. Dean Morgan picked up a minor injury but Jon Fearn has stated that the former Colchester man will be fine for the pre season tour of Sweden.

Manager, Steve Coppell singled out individuals for praise, in particular new signing Ibrahima Sonko and youngster Darren Campbell. Trailist Steve McNamara also played.

Reading will play: IFK Bergvik - 19th July

                             IK Brage - 21st July

After this Reading entertain Brentford at Griffin Park on 25th July.
