Bluebirds crush sorry Stoke

Cardiff City swept aside a sorry Stoke City side who would not have scored had the game lasted until Sunday morning. The Bluebirds scored three well worked goals, the first a long range gem from Kevin Cooper, and by the half hour were two nil up....

The result was never in doubt, but the match will be remembered for a fabulous performance from Neil Cox who was man of the match after scoring the other two goals either side of the interval. The result keeps Cardiff in touch with the play off contenders but once again a very poor crowd witnessed the affair with just over 10,000 in the ground. Obviously not many travelling Rugby fans from north of the border fancied the game!

For the record the attendance was 10,780.

Cardiff City 3 (2)    v  Stoke City 0

Cooper, Cox 2.

The Bluebirds now need to build on this and get a good result at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night, the Hatters will be keen to make amends after getting a weekend drubbing on their travels.
