Watched by their biggest crowd of the season the Bluebirds once again failed to impress at Ninian Park, and the visiting 1,000 fans from Devon went home happy. By the end of the game the ground was half empty after a spineless performance from Cardiff who ended with 10 men....

The club would have been pleased with the increased attendance but the extra 5,000 fans will not be rushing back quickly after a 90 minute horror show from the Bluebirds. The visitors were better in all departments and after the poor display against Derby prior to Christmas this will have done nothing to boost confidence with important games on the horizon.

Darren Purse was sent off for impeding a Plymouth Attacker in the box, and the resulting spot kick handed the Pilgrims the lead. Once Cardiff went behind they never really looked like equalising especially playing with one man down, however Plyouths second signalled a mass exodus as the holiday crowd raced for home / the pub / the in-laws.

For those of us who watch the club regularly some of the football served up this season has been highlighted as the main reason the crowds are poor despite our league position, we are now a witnessing pretty unimpressive fayre without the solace of gaining league points. One point from two home games is relegation not promotion form, but more worryingly for the club it will not help in the campaign for bigger crowds.

Standing on the Bob Bank terrace with many new faces one of the questions being asked at half time was " is it always this poor? " - regular fans will now that it is.

Alexander, Loovens, Weston, Purse, Barker ( Cox 75 ), Cooper ( Parry 65 ), Whitely, Koumas, Ledley, Ricketts, Jerome ( Lee 77 ). Subs not used - Margetson, Ardley.
