For the second game in a row a man was sent off in a Cardiff City match but this time it was the bluebirds who went down to ten. Darren Purse was sent off for two bookable offences and Hull capitalised to punish the Welsh team....

Second half goals from Billy Paynter and Craig Fagan earned Hull victory against 10-man Cardiff at the KC Stadium. Paynter, currently on loan from Port Vale, volleyed home a cross  to put the Tigers  1-0 up after 70 minutes.

Cardiff manager David Jones was upset at the sending off feeling the Hull player tackled by Purse had made the most of it, however things like this even themselves out as we experienced on Monday night against Ipswich Town. This game changed after captain Darren Purse’s dismissal, it was only two minutes later whene Paynter scored.

Purse was booked in either half for two fouls on Fagan, the dismissal spurred on the home team with the belief and they began to press forward. Once the first goal went in the result was never in doubt.
