Cardiff City travel to preston to try and build on their impressive away form which has seen them rise into the top six following an excellent away win at Sheffield Wednesday.....

It will be a tough battle as Preston North End can be a very good Championship side when they play to their full potential. The Bluebirds have improved beyond all recognition in recent weeks although do find it hard to break down resolute defences, notably in recent home games against Coventry and Luton.

The local press is full of stories about players ( Darren Purse ) being embarassed to play in front of only 11,000 fans and yet more delays to the stadium ( nothing new there then ! ) meanwhile on the pitch Cardiff City will go into Saturdays game with Michael Ricketts and Alan Lee starting together for the first time. They have only played together twice as Alan Lee normally comes on for Ricketts who does tend to tire after 70 minutes or so...

Dave Jones is expected to draft Paul Parry into the team, he will take over from Kevin Cooper, who is sidelined from the trip to Deepdale and the next home match against Brighton after having a knee operation following Citys win at Sheffield Wednesday.

Hopefully Darren Purse won't be too embarrassed to play in front of 13,000 or so Preston fans and can help the Bluebirds bring home 3 points.
