I said in my short preview we'd struggle to get 5,000 fans into Ninian Park and unfortunately I was right. Less than 4,000 turned up swelled by 25 from Cheshire to watch the bluebirds progress to the next round.

Quite frankly apart from Jason Koumas goal the game was nothing special, the only bright part of the first half was Macclesfield Town's crisp passing and good goal. Our defence had been breached for the first time in three games!

The stay away fans ( all who will expect tickets in the next round when we draw Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United or Chelsea ) missed nothing. The best part of the evening was Mike Morris' pathetic goal attempt at half time and the pint of IPA in the pub afterwards.

Crowds are suffering because whilst we are now on a winning streak quite frankly it is not very good to watch. The last two home league games have seen the bluebirds hang on against pressure from opponents who in all honesty deserved a point, it was much the same against Macclesfield! The entertainment value isn't very high in my humble fans opinion, and if you bring a friend he may not want to come back too quickly. The loyal fans will go week in week out but new fans want to be excited and entertained. The 3,849 know who they are and so should the club!

The days of people queuing to watch a wiining team playing boring football have long since gone, "1-0 to the Arsenal / Cardiff / etc" doesn't fill grounds anymore and Ninian Park is no exception.

Let's hope we can however grab all three points at the New Den on Saturday..
