How big are we really? UK football average crowds
Not in the top 40...

Despite the flag waving and hullaballo of the last five years we are not bigger than Barcelona or Celtic. In fact we are not bigger than Watford!
The Echo ran a double page spread on " The beginners guide to supporting Cardiff City " ! Where the ground is and what to wear!
Embarassing or what??!
Performances on the pitch are improving thanks to two 1-0 home wins, however the real cause for concern is the level of support we are getting through the turnstiles. Well below average for the division ( in fact one of the lowest ), and as shown below barely in the UK's top 50.
The club have every right to be disappointed but were lead to believe by talking to the wrong people that crowds would flock to see the team back in the second tier of English football. The crowd against Crystal palace was the second lowest in the division. The truth is the last time we were at this level crowds were even worse than they are now. Unfortuanately reality has set in, and in honesty can you inmagine playing in front 0f 49,000 empty seats! Here is the current table for 2005/6 UK crowds...
