Stuart Fleetwood was on target as the Cardiff City reserves secured the Wales & West England Combination crown with a 1-0 win over Swindon Town. Paul Wilkinson's second-string have now won the title on back-to-back occasions.

Stuart Fleetwood netted a last minute goal to secure a 1-0 win for the Cardiff City reserves against Swindon Town, with victory meaning the Bluebirds secure the Wales and West England reserve title for successive seasons.

With a far superior goal difference to fellow Championship chasers Plymouth Argyle and a three point lead at the top of the table, City only needed a point against the Robins to make it back-to-back regional championships a certainty. Paul Wilkinson's side went even better with Fleetwood popping up to score another second-string goal when the game had looked like ending in a goalless draw.

Central and East Section winners Luton Town now face the Bluebirds in a play-off to discover the overall winners of the Combination. Details of the fixture are to be announced shortly, with Cardiff City looking to go one better than last season when Reading beat Wilkinson's side in a play-off at the Madjeski Stadium.

Congratulations to the reserves on another fantastic achievement, and with the senior side dissappointing in a dour season, it's nice to get some silverware for the Ninian Park trophy cabinet!
