Joma Sport will produce Cardiff City's shirts for the 2005/2006 Football League Championship campaign. That's right - it's another new jersey to con the supporters as the club spirals towards financial disaster. A new season, another new kit. In our financial situation, it is no surprise the club are trying to push the sale of a brand new jersey, but the point still remains that we have not worn the same home strip for successive seasons for well over a decade.

Supporters will undoubtedly be speculating the major news for weeks about where a white stripe may be placed, how blue the jersey will be or whether or not Sam Hammam will get some odd symbol of Welsh nationalism or even a picture of himself amongst the nylon pattern. However, one thing is certain – Cardiff City’s new kit supplier will be Joma.

Having had Puma manufacture home jerseys for seasons, supporters will be disappointed that a relatively unknown company will be lavishing their company logo over the 2005/2006 Football League Championship strips. Not that it really matters whose name is on the kit, but Joma have also made jerseys for Charlton Athletic, Deportivo La Coruna and Sevilla, in addition to international minnows Honduas. The company formed in 1965.

Meanwhile, as can be expected with Sam Hammam at the helm, a new away strip and third strip are likely to be unveiled prior to next season. They can even dissect money out of us by introducing another new FAW Premier Cup kit, assuming we play in the competition again next term!
