Junichi Inamoto has gone back to West Bromwich Albion after his 3-month stay in Cardiff concluded after the 1-1 draw at home to Crewe Alexandra. A financial crisis has prevented any serious intentions the club may have had of signing the Japanese international on a permanent basis.

A poor performance ended Junichi Inamoto's three-month stay at Ninian Park. The Japanese midfielder has had a handful of below-par displays to end of a relatively successful stay in South Wales, where has been a  regular in midfield despite questions about the player's fitness.

City have shown interest in signing the West Bromwich Albion star on a permanent basis, but financial problems have prevented the Bluebirds from making a serious bid for the former Arsenal and Fulham midfielder. Lennie Lawrence hopes something can be done over the summer, but in all reality with a huge exodus of players on the way and £30million of debt owed, this is highly unlikely.

"West Bromwich have been fair in talks of transfer payments but with our finances I can't commit the club. It's something we may revisit in the summer." said the Bluebirds boss.
