Recently appointed Cardiff City assistant Terry Burton has warned Blackburn Rovers that they could be victims of an F.A Cup upset when they visit Ninian Park in the third round of the F.A Cup.

The interesting cup tie will take place on either the 8th or 9th of January, and with Blackburn struggling at the wrong end of the Premiership table the Bluebirds will fancy their chances of a shock. However, in recent weeks Mark Hughes as led a Rovers revival after a poor start to his club managerial career and there is nothing better than a cup run to appease fans.

"Blackburn haven't had the greatest of starts and expectations will be high in both camps, that's the luck of the draw," said Burton.

"I'm sure Blackburn would have preferred a home draw and I'm sure they will be looking at it and thinking it's a tricky one.

"They'll be favourites, they've got all the Premiership players but it's a potential banana skin for them."

Burton was brought in from Watford to instil some passion, grit and determination into the Cardiff City side. This was lacking from the League Cup defeat against Portsmouth, and the Bluebirds will need more belief if they are to challenge Rovers in the New Year.
