Cardiff City have taken Finland Under-21 international Toni Koskela on a one-week trial, with the prospect considered an excellent talent for the future. The 21-year-old will train with the Bluebirds for 7 days before Lennie Lawrence will decide whether he is interested in offering a contract to the midfielder.

At 6'7 giant currently plays for Kotka and has made a real impact last season with many Finnish football supporters claiming he could be the next big name of Scandinavian football. Making 25 appearances for his club last season, notching up 4 goals and 5 assists Koskela is a strong player who could add some steel to the Bluebirds midfield.

He is a versatile player who can adapt top both attacking and defensive roles in the midfield, making him a good squad player. A run of niggling injuries has restricted the progress of Koskela but he has now established himself a place in the Under-21 Finnish side and seen to have the credentials to play for the national side in years to come.

It looks interesting - watch this space!
