James Collins and Robert Page were in action as Wales beat Latvia 2-0 in Riga. It may not have been the greatest performance under Mark Hughes, but goals from Craig Bellamy and John Hartson late on in the game secured the friendly international win. New Page 1

It may not have been a memorable performance, but Wales have continued their unbeaten run of friendly internationals with a 2-0 victory over an improving Latvia side. Late goals from John Hartson and Craig Bellamy were enough for Mark Hughes' side, with Sparky hinting the duo would form the strike partnership for the upcoming World Cup qualification matches.

City trio Robert Earnshaw, Daniel Gabbidon and Paul Parry had all pulled out of the squad with various injuries in what was a strong Wales squad in Riga. James Collins and Robert Page both earned caps though, with just over 400 Wales fans making the journey to Eastern Europe.

Wales kick-off the eagerly anticipated World Cup qualifiers in September, with an away trip to Azerbaijan first on the cards before a 'Battle of Britain' affair with Northern Ireland at the Millennium Stadium. England are also in the Welsh group, with the game between the two Home Nations definitely one to look forward to!
