16-year-old goalkeeper Scott Allison has joined Cardiff City from Conference side York City. The youngsters signing coincides with the launch of the Bluebirds' academy system which comes into affect next year. The Bootham Crescent outfit will be paid compensation if Allison ever signs senior terms.

Cardiff City have snapped up 16-year-old goalkeeper Scott Allison from Conference outfit York City. The youngster moves to Ninian Park on a free transfer due to his age, but the Yorkshire outfit will be eligible to a compensation fee if Allison ever signs professional terms with the Bluebirds. The contract also includes a sell-on clause if the Bluebirds part with the teenage for a fee in future seasons.

The deal is a completely separate transaction to Lee Bullock's possible move from York City to South Wales. City are stalling on a possible £75,000 swoop for the midfielder despite the player impressing during a loan-spell, with cash troubles believed to be a problem. Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town are both expressing interest in Bullock.
