Cardiff City have added further dates to their pre-season schedule, with the Bluebirds taking on Forest Green Rovers at The Lawn on August 3rd. The club will also field XI's away to Haverfordwest County, Barry Town and Carmarthen Town.

Cardiff City have added another pre-season fixture to their schedule. The Bluebirds will make the short trip over the bridge to Gloucestershire to face Football Conference outfit Forest Green Rovers on August 3rd, who beat Lennie Lawrence's side 3-1 in a friendly at The Lawn last season.

As Bluebird to the Bone previously reported, City have already booked pre-season fixtures away from home against Chester City, Mansfield Town, Yeovil Town and Cheltenham Town. A home fixture against a bigger club is expected to be booked, most probably a tie against a mid-table Premiership outfit.

In addition, the City will field an ‘XI’ in three friendlies against Welsh pyramid clubs, with the side most likely to be made up of reserve and youth team players. This side will visit Uefa Cup-bound Haverfordwest County on July 18^th, recently-relegated Barry Town five days later and a visit to Camarthen Town on 26^th July.

These fixtures are likely to provide a financial boost to the three clubs as the Welsh Premier desperately looks to improve its appeal to the nations’ public, and seek the media attention it deserves and needs to fulfil its full potential.

The senior team look likely to book one or two more friendlies, with City probably looking to secure a handful more pre-season fixtures for the reserve and youth sides, with the club securing Academy status for next season.
