Cardiff City have announced four pre-season friendlies as preparation for the 2004/2005 season begins. All organised friendlies now look likely to be played on British soil, after a tour to Scandinavia was cancelled by the club.

Cardiff City have confirmed the dates of several pre-season friendlies as preparation for the 2004/2005 season begins. However, the club have cancelled plans to tour Scandinavia for a second successive season despite previously confirmed a decision to return.

Playing all friendlies on British soil seems a far better idea, with the club suffering from massive debts. Also, many fans criticized the team for going abroad last term, claiming the time away meant the club missed out on the best free transfer signings.

The club has announced four on-the-road friendlies as Lennie Lawrence prepares for another season in the hot seat at Ninian Park. The Bluebirds will take-on recently promoted Chester City at the Deva Stadium on July 20th, visit Field Mill to face Third Division play-off hopefuls Mansfield Town on July 24th before taking on Yeovil Town 3 days later and then travelling to Whaddon Road to play Cheltenham Town on the 29th.
