Youth Duo Released
Cardiff City have released youngsters Michael Hayward and 'keeper Danny Brimble from their contracts at the club.

The duo have featured regularly in City's youth set-up and also both have appeared in reserve team line-up. However, City boss Lennie Lawrence, assistant Paul Wilkinson and youth boss Colin Pascoe agree that the players are not progressing well enough to aim for a place in the Bluebirds senior squad in future years, so the decision has been reached to release the pair.

Struggling Welsh Premier outfit Barry Town have wasted no time in signing 'keeper Brimble, who appeared in the Dragons' thrilling 5-4 victory over Welshpool at Jenner Park on Saturday. The Welsh league and Welsh Cup holders have had a terrible season with a financial crisis hitting the club since John Fashanu departed as chairman, so the signing of Brimble will be a boost to Colin Addison's side.

Good luck to Brimble in the League of Wales, and good luck to Hayward on looking for a new club.
