The transfer coming so soon into the January transfer window may come as a surprise to some City supporters, as it had previously looked like Lennie Lawrence was backing down on Parry with a move for the left-footer more likely to come at the end of the season.

However, City have been tracking Parry for several months and the 23-year-old impressed during a brief trial at Ninian Park. It's a big gamble, bringing in a player who has no experience outside of the non-league to solve our left-sided problem, but Parry is very highly rated and has put in some class displays for the Bulls so far this campaign.

Lawrence has attended a few matches at Edgar Street this season to scout Parry, and also travelled to Forest Green to watch Parry net a hat-trick and put in a sensational display against the West country strugglers.

Parry came close to taking the headlines of the British newspapers in an F.A Cup tie for the Bulls. The non-league side were playing Leicester City, and with the game goalless with only minutes left the winger cut inside the Foxes defence and unleashed a shot that rebounded off the crossbar denying the minnows a cup shock. A few inches lower and Parry would have made himself the modern-day Ronny Radford.

The boo-boys have already given criticism towards the transfer, claiming that at nearly 24 years-of-age it is unlikely Parry will be good enough to make such a huge step up through the divisions. However, it is clear Parry has made a big, big impact during his time at Hereford, and given time to progress there is every possibility he can do a job for City.

Parry will go straight into the squad for the league clash against Rotherham United, in a game where the Bluebirds will look to end a run of 5 consecutive defeats. Lawrence may even be forced to start the youngster, despite the obvious pressure this would heap on the player, with City's problems on the left-wing mounting.
