Former City captain Andy Legg is hopeful that he can complete his move to Peterborough United in the coming week.

The 36-year-old left Ninian Park last week after an argument over wages in his new contract.

Legg was asked to take a 70% pay cut, and was not prepared to put pen to paper on a deal with such reduced pay.

The former Welsh international has been in talks with a number of clubs, but Peterborough United look favourite to sign the veteran.

Legg spent a short period on loan at London Road.

"I have spoken to a few clubs on the phone, but Barry Fry is the first I have talked to in person," said Legg.

"We are not a million miles apart in negotiations but we are not there yet.

"Hopefully Barry can swing it, and I will start the new season with Peterborough"

Legg played under Fry at Birmingham City, and would love to work under him again.

"I've known Barry for years, and it was great to talk to him. It would be great to play for him again."
