The Bluebirds are expected to name a weakened side as they face Third division strugglers, Exeter City in the LDV Vans Trophy tomorrow evening. Here's a look forward to tomorrow's game. Cardiff City kick off their LDV Vans campaign tomorrow, with a trip South to Exeter.

After receiving a bye to the Second Stage, the Bluebirds are expected to name a reserve side for the game.

There is always much debate regarding the team to be played in this competition, personally I think the club should name a full strength XI as a Millennium Stadium final and some silverware is at stake. Others argue it's simply a distraction from the league and a reserve team should be played. In recent years, the club has agreed with the latter of these arguments.

Exeter are currently struggling towards the bottom of Division Three - and look to have a relegation battle on their hands for the season. Spoon bender, Uri Geller hasn't managed to turn the fortunes of the club, who are desperate for points as they sit just one point ahead of bottom placed, Swansea City.

Former City striker, Steve Flack is expected to return for tomorrow's game. Flack spent 10 months at Ninian Park, but only netted one goal during his period at the club; he is the Grecians top scorer so far this season.

Flack won't be the only familiar face to City fans travelling to St James' Park. Ninian Park legend, Gary Bennett is currently a coach at the club.

Lawrence is likely to name many fringe players in tomorrow's tie, Martyn Margetson, Jason Bowen, Andy Campbell, Leo Fortune-West, James Collins, Mark Bonner and Michael Simpkins could all be given chances to impress and get themselves back into first team contention.

City are expected to take only about 150 fans (including me) to Devon.

Radio Wales will cover the game on 882MW.
