Former Bluebird, Kevin Evans has joined Merthyr Tydfil on a free transfer. The 21 year-old who started his career with Leeds United didn't feature in any of the clubs league games during the 2001/2002 season and was released recently. He is set to make his Martyrs debut tomorrow. Former Cardiff City defensive midfielder, Kevin Evans has signed for Dr.Martens Southern Division side, Merthyr Tydfil. The 21 year-old, kicked off his career with Premiership club, Leeds United but after failing to make the grade he dropped down to Division Three, signing for Cardiff City.

Evans was a regular during Cardiff's 2000/2001 promotion season, and was tipped to have a bright future, but big name signings kept him out of the side for all of last season, and both the player and the club thought it best if Evans moved on.

Evans is likely to make his debut for the Martyrs tomorrow as they face Racing Club Warwick.

Best of luck to Kevin!
