Rams beat Bluebirds at Pride Park

Derby County beat Cardiff City by three goals to one, and Paul Parry's equaliser was not enough to give the Welsh team any consolation in a game which saw Michael Chopra injured with a damaged hamstring. Cardiff boss Dave Jones said after the game - "I think it will be between Birmingham, Sunderland, Derby and West Brom for the top two positions, but I can't pick them. We needed to win today to give ourselves a chance - to put ourselves four points behind Derby. But 10 points is a lot at this stage of the season with so few games left so we'll probably be fighting for that play-off spot."

CardiffCity: Alexander, Gunter, Johnson, McNaughton, Ledley, Parry, McPhail, Walton, Whittingham, Thompson, Chopra (Byrne 35), Byrne (Green 78).
Subs Not Used: Forde, Purse, Blake.

Goals: Parry 32.

Att: 27,689.
