Cardiff City defensive midfielder, Kevin Evans has had his contract terminated. The former Leeds United player has struggled to get into first team contention last season, and both the club and the player thought it best if he moved on.
Defensive midfielder, Kevin Evans has mutually agreed to terminate his contract with Cardiff City today. Evans is a decent player but was not given a single chance in the first team last season, and the club has decided that it will be in the best interest for the player to let him go.
Evans was a regular in the first team during the 2000/2001 season, where the Bluebirds gained promotion from the third division, but big money signing forced his out the side the following season, and he Cardiff City career died.
Last season, Evans briefly had a loan spell with Confernace Champions, Boston United, but injuries forced him to finish his spell early.
Evans started off his career with Premiership giants, Leeds United, and was tipped for a promising future, but a strong Leeds youth side saw Evans being packed off to Swansea City on loan, before joining Cardiff City permanently.
Best of luck to Evans, who will hopefully find a club soon
