Newcastle United travel to Craven Cottage on the back of two consecutive wins, three defeats and a draw from their last six games. Fulham host on the back of four defeats and two draws from their last six.

Newcastle are without manager Alan Pardew who was given a stadium ban which starts this weekend. His behaviour at the KC Stadium will see him serve a 7 game punishment. His side are also without Hatem ben Arfa who has been granted compassionate leave, whilst captain Fabricio Coloccini returns from compassionate leave and should go straight back into the starting eleven.

Loic Remy (calf) and Mathieu Debuchy (groin) are both unavailable whilst Davide Santon (knee) and Rob Elliot (knee) are both a doubt.

There are 22 points separating 8^th place Newcastle and bottom of the league Fulham, with manager Manager Felix Magath saying;

"We need to win all five home games. I think that could be enough."

Magath will be without Scott Parker (knee) and Damien Duff (knee), whilst Ashkan Dejagah (knock) is also a doubt. Fernando Amorebieta (muscle) could return but William Kvist (hamstring) is unlikely to be available.

He said ahead of the game;

"Every team has his manager beside normally, so it's not usual. It could be a chance for us. (But) always you have to take the chance. Everybody makes mistakes. He was punished. That's it. The most important thing is to win one game to give the players and the team more confidence.

We didn't take the chance three times. Now we have to take the chance in the home game against Newcastle. We've got the chance to take three points. If we can realise that I think we have a good chance (of survival)."

Pardew, who won’t be at the game said;

“John (Carver) has been caretaker before. He has vast experience and he knows our fans inside and out. He knows what they expect and I expect him to deliver it here.

I do know that a game plan is in place, we all know it, John Carver knows it inside out and I have 100% trust in him.”

The game is sold out!

our bench will have an average age of about 21 tomorrow with all the injuries.

This should be a relatively comfortable victory for Newcastle, they have seemingly rediscovered some form, and will be eager to take advantage of Fulham's disastrous run! With momentum on Newcastle's side I would say a 3-0 win for the visitors, they recently proved that they can win matches without Cabaye, and win with bells on!

do you think carver has forgot he is in charge today, we need to be making 2 more changes rather than just bringing ameobi on and hoofing the ball up field hasn't and wont work

she's going to the southampton match to.

Pardew said he wasn't going to get involved during matches but after today he needs to, Carver had no control over the game he made poor substitutions and needed to change things tactically and didn't.

I am so sorry.

We were however crap. I have a theory.

I tend to go to the first game of the season or games after a 2 week break.

This is another example of that.

Saints won't be.

I was practically sat on the pitch was 2nd row by tunnel and about 5 seats away (hoping there is now MOTD footage as it wasn't a very exciting game).
