Pardew: Not Naming Cabaye Was Not A Difficult Decision

Manager Alan Pardew has said that leaving midfielder Yohan Cabaye out of the game today was not a difficult decision to make, but one he had to make.  Cabaye is now sitting out of his second game of the season whilst awaiting a club to make a suitable offer for him, which meets the standards of owner Mike Ashley. 

When asked by Sky Sports about the choice Pardew said;

“Not a difficult decision, a decision that I had to make”.

He went on to say that it will be nice to see the fans again after Monday night. He added;

“Well I think after Monday night which really went against us it will be nice to see our home fans again and to play some good football, because we have been under pressure from the back end of last year when we didn’t produce our best but there is no reason we can’t do that today and I think we will play a lot better today.”
