Haidara Speaks About That Tackle & Lack Of FA Action

Newcastle United defender Massadio Haidara has given his first interview since being stretchered off against Wigan with what looked like a horrendous injury inflicted by Wigan striker Callum McManaman. The 20 year old has spoken of the anger he felt when he thought his career had been ended, but has confirmed that the injury is thankfully not has bad as first thought.

He said;

"He could have ended my career and ruined my whole life – but he will play again before me, it’s ridiculous.

At the time I was very angry. I thought he’d ended my career. Now I know I escaped a serious injury, I have taken time to stand back from it and I am not angry.

I simply hope it will serve as a lesson for him and the next time he will think twice before making a tackle like that. I hope when he watched it back he told himself that wasn’t who he really was.

I understand Whelan wants to defend his own player but I believe fairness and honesty must be respected.

You simply need to see the images and photos to understand. People will have their own opinion, of course, and I don’t wish to cause a controversy.

I am simply relieved to have escaped the worst."

This lad is going to be real quality he seems to have a good bit of logic between his head as well as very good skills on the pitch, hopefully he will not be out too long.

It was on the radio earlier that Haidara has arranged a meeting to speak to mcManaman, surely it should ahve been the other way round
