Steven Taylor has been named Man of the Match by forum regular Mentalman, for his part in yesterday's 2-1 win against Stoke City.  There were 7's for Cabaye, Sissoko and Mathieu Debuchy, but Taylor stood out overall. Cheik Tiote received the lowest rating for conceding the penalty. Read on to see how the rest of the team faired....

Rob Elliot (6.5) - He didn't have much to do but what he needed to do he did well, seems to be growing in confidence and ensuring Krul isn't being missed too badly.

Davide Santon (6.5) An ok performance with a couple of good attacks but seems like he could do with a break.

Mapou Yanga Mbiwa (6.5) Another good performance from Mapou, struggled sometimes against the physicality of playing against Crouch but he's definately getting better.

Steven Taylor (7.5) Another top performance from Taylor who is making Colo's abscence easier to deal with! I gave him an extra .5 for his goal celebration.

Mathieu Debuchy (7) Possibly Debuchy's best performance for us, he was unstoppable at times and unlike Simpson manages to get good crosses into the box, also strong when defending considering he was playing so high up the pitch!

Cheick Tiote (5.5) Started off shaky then got better, then got worse, then gave away a needless penalty and then quite rightly got took off! he seemed to play better when attacking rather than defending!

Yohan Cabaye (7) Better performance than the last couple of games and an amazing free kick, saying that he needs to improve his set pieces and also stop these badly timed tackles he keeps doing, its only a matter of time before he gets sent off.

Jonas Gutierrez (6.5) Another typical performance from Jonas, he seems to be settling into the more advanced position and becoming more of an attacking threat although this could have just been due to the lack of attacking threat from Stoke.

Yoan Gouffran (6.5) He was a threat until he went off although he missed a sitter!

Moussa Sissoko (7) Yet again he was our best attacking player although he lost the ball a few times when he ran into players rather than passing the ball.

Papiss Cisse (6) He was quiet throughout the match, but we weren't playing in a way which suited him against a team like Stoke, we finally put a through ball to him which we should ahve been doing the whole game and he scored.

Sylvain Marveaux (6.5) A better performance than in mid week and provided an amazing defence splitting goal to win us the game, he's far more suited to a central role than playing out wide like he did against Anzhi.

Massadio Haidara (6.5) Another good performance from the youngster both defensively and attacking, he gives us something different from Santon with him being left footed and not needing to come onto his right foot everytime.

Adam Campbell (6) It was his run off the ball that opened up the space for Marv to pass the ball to cisse for the goal.
