Xisco's Contract Terminated

Newcastle United have confirmed that striker Xisco's contract has been terminated with immediate effect and by mutual consent. The 26 year old joined Newcastle in 2008 from Deportivo la Coruna, but has only played a handful of games for the club. Instead he spent time out on loan at Racing Santandar and back at former club Deportivo la Coruna.

The club were reported to have been playing the Spaniard £50k a week for the last four years despite him having made just 11 appearances in total. He would have been out of contract in May had he not have left today.
