Newcastle United welcome West Brom to St James Park for tomorrow’s 3pm kick off. Newcastle go into the game in 11th place, whilst West Brom are 6th with just four more points. Newcastle have won two (both in Europe), drawn two and lost two from their last six games in all competitions, whilst West Brom travel on the back of two wins, three defeats and a draw from their last six games in all competitions.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew goes into the game with confidence after a 1-0 win over Club Brugge on Thursday night, but knowing that weekend performances tend to be weaker after a European game. West Brom are also yet to win away from home this season.

Cheik Tiote begins his 3 match domestic ban for seeing red in the Wear-Tyne derby, however, Tim Krul, Danny Simpson, Fabricio Coloccini, Yohan Cabaye, Mike Williamson, Hatem Ben Arfa and Demba Ba are all expected to be recalled after either being rested or benched in midweek.

Pardew has no fresh injury concerns, but continues to be without Haris Vuckic (knee), Ryan Taylor (knee) and Dan Gosling (knee).

Steve Clarke who brings West Brom to St James Park, is expected to welcome back Chris Brunt (hamstring) and Billy Jones (knee), whilst Jerone Thomas (knee) could also play a part. Claudio Yacob (hamstring) continues to be a doubt and Steven Reid is not expected to play as he continue to recover from a hamstring injury.

Ahead of the game, Striker Shola Ameobi, praised Steve Clarke, whom he trained under earlier in his Newcastle career. He said;

"I remember him very well from when I was in the youth team, I think it was. I have spoken to him a few times over the years and he has been fantastic.

He has always been a great coach and he has stepped into that role and taken to it like a duck to water.

It's a great start for him and I really like to see guys who have been in this area doing well, so I am really pleased for him and I wish him all the best."

On the game he added;

"They [West Brom] took points from us last season, so we are very aware of that. They have got some talented players and they have started off fantastically well this year, so it's a tough game for us.

But we are at home and we know that this place has to be a fortress for us, has to be a place where we pick up points if we are going to do what we did last year.

This place was somewhere that teams found it hard to pick up points, so we have to make it that way, starting on Sunday.”

Fact: Newcastle United have won just 1 in their last 7 Premier League games, whilst West Brom have won just 1 in their last 9 Premier League away games.

Fact: West Brom have scored just twice this season in the Premier League, away from home.

At least the 3rd time I have seen Gutierrez pushed to the floor by West BRom and the ref has turned a blind eye
