Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has made mention of Andy Carroll's transfer deadline day sale in today's matchday programme, making reference to potential problems in extending Carroll's contract at Newcastle, despite the striker already having signed a new 5year deal less than six months ago.

He writes;

"If it was a case of focusing on what is left of this season, clearly we would have wanted Andy to remain a Newcastle player, and yet we needed to look at the bigger picture.

The salary being spoken about for the player presented us with a dilemma in terms of extending Andy's contract and in the end, the decision was made to do a deal.

We cannot turn the clock back and everyone has to move on, however difficult that may be for those of you still feeling the disappointment of Andy's exit.

You never want to lose one of your best players and the timing of his departure could not have been worse as we didn't have time to find a replacement. But we all have to unite together from this day forward.

My squad has done fantastically well in Andy's absence over the last few weeks and now we have to make sure we get over the finishing line in the Premier League in the final 14 games of this season with the outstanding players we still have in our squad."

The argumentative, confrontational line management has taken over this is wrong. That Pardew carries water for them shows that feels he can't get any other PL job and is desperate to keep this one. I've not seen anyone from the club other than Kevin Nolan address the fact that our squad is too small. All these assertions about the size of the fee and Carroll's wages seem like an attempt to have the last word. All that could have been addressed in the summer. Truth is it was going to be a disappointing window even if they hadn't sold AC.

Interesting considering noone bought the 'transfer request' line its now the 'too good refuse' line.

I wonder if we will ever get the true, 'I have a set of cocks belonging to the cockney mafia up my @#$%& and can't do anything about it' line.

By the way Tiote is for sale?

Pardew said he doesn't want to lose him but thinks he will if the right bid comes in.

TRANSLATION: Hey we got this player for a reasonable price and think he is now worth alot more so come and get him.
