Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll is set for a four day trial after pleading not guilty to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm at today's plea and case management hearing. The 21 year old who is accused of assaulting Michael Cook, after an incident at the Blu Bambu club in Newcastle on 7th December 2009 will now face trial in October.
The trial which will be held the week beginning the 25th October is likely to mean Carroll, who has been released on unconditional bail, will require time off and probably miss at least 1 game for the club as a result.
