Loan signing Danny Simpson has praised Chris Hughton for the "perfect job" he is doing at the club, despite the turmoil going on behind closed doors. Simpson, who signed to Newcastle from Manchester United in a 6 month deal has also indicated he would be interested in making the arrangement permanent.
Talking of Chris he said;
"It's obvious that Chris has done a perfect job, with all that was known and said about which managers could come here, it can't have been easy for him.
But he has managed superly.
Obviously, the fact that he has given me a chance to play regularly is brilliant, but he's very impressive in bigger ways.
He is very precise in setting his targets and in his preparation for matches.
He gives each of us information on our opposing players.
Some guys don't really know much about some of the players in this league, but Chris has ensured we are fully prepared for each match."
On staying at the club he said;
"I feel comfortable here - I feel like I belong.
Going here, there and everywhere on loan is fine but after a while you want to put down roots and get settled. You just want to feel like you belong somewhere, like you're settled somewhere. It's good for your career as well because when you feel wanted and relaxed you play better.
I feel like I'm getting past that stage where I want to keep living out of a suitcase and get settled. That's why it would be nice to make it permanent here.
I'm living in Newcastle and I love the place. I feel part of the team, the lads are great, the fans are amazing and the staff are brilliant too. It's a great feeling and it's what you want."

He seems to imply he'd be alright with a permanent move...any chance?
