In the last game of the season, Newcastle travel to Villa Park is dire need of 3 points to stay up (depending on other results), whilst Villa will be chasing 3 points to claim 5th place. Newcastle have drawn 2 and won 1 of their last 6 games, whilst Villa have won 1 and drawn 4 of their last 6 games with both teams suffering at the hands of 7th place Fulham in recent weeks.

Newcastle will take the pitch having picked up 2 red cards in their last 3 games and having accrued 7 all season, whilst Villa have received just 2 all season.

Martin O'Neill will be hoping to have Ashley Young fit tomorrow after recovering from a calf strain sustained last weekend against Middlesbrough; however Luke Young is unlikely to be available due to a foot injury. Midfielder Gareth Barry and Defender Carlos Cueller are both available after recovering from illness in time for last weekend, but Martin Laursen will not play after announcing his retirement from football due to injury.

Alan Shearer has several injuries and suspensions to contend with after both Joey Barton and Sebastien Bassong allowed frustration to get the better of them and were red carded against Liverpool and Fulham respectively.

However with Shearer refusing to believe he will be forced to support a Championship team next season, he will not take any chances.

Jose Enrique is looking to return for the final game of the season having recovered from a hamstring problem and striker Michael Owen, who missed out last with through a groin injury, is expected to at least be on the bench.

With Obafemi Martins available but nursing a groin injury it is likely that Alan Smith, Mark Viduka and Andy Carroll will all play a part.

Fact: If he plays, it will be Steven Taylor's 150th appearance for Newcastle United

Doesnt matter what team Man U put out... it's our own fault we are in this situation. We must concentrate on our own game. Win it, then see what happens.

Game is Live in Canada on Setanta...can't really believe the season has come down to this.

I really really really didnt want us to go down and this probably wont hit home until the first game of next season.

But now:

We need Shearer to stay and get the club sorted out once and for all. Get rid of the high earners, dead weight and players past their prime ..Viduka, Butt, Smith, Owen, Barton, Duff, Capaca, Ameobi.

If Bassong doesnt want to stay then Bye Bye to him too. We need more players with heart like Steven Taylor.

Again, this wont sink in for a long time but like everyone else I am a Toon Supporter through and through and we will be BACK IN FORCE!!!

Gut the team, just rebuild it from scratch. Steven Taylor can stay and be skipper next year. He's the only one who gives a !@#$. Keep Carrol, Guthrie, Lovenkrands, Enrique, and any reserve who wants to stay.

Don't you lot have a 70million wage bill to cut? Parachute payment from PL is about 13million. Massive clearout is needed to ensure you don't go in to administration first and foremost!
