Kinnear Sweats On FA Outcome

Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear will learn whether any action will be taken against him for a charge of improper conduct, once he has recovered from his triple heart bypass. Both the 62 year old and Hull City manager Phil Brown pleaded guilty after a touchline confrontation during their 3rd round FA Cup replay. The FA has announced that there will be no action taken in Kinnear's absence whilst Brown who goes before the FA on 19th March has pleaded for lenience.

An FA Source said;

"We have to take into consideration the circumstances, and we'll wait until Joe's in good health before it goes ahead. There will be no action in his absence."

Whilst Brown had the following to say on the matter;

"I'm hoping the powers-that-be will show common sense when they deliberate on our FA Cup tie and that there are no books being thrown at anyone.

There has already been plenty of talk about touchline bans, but it was only a case of the proverbial handbags at 10 paces after a dispute was blown out of all proportion not by the referee, Phil Dowd, but probably by ourselves.

We're both passionate about our teams, we're both passionate about the game, and we both badly wanted to get through."
