Taylor To Face Bolton

Newcastle Defender Steven Taylor has declared himself fit to face Bolton at St James' Park on Saturday after withdrawing from the England Under 21 International side as a precaution. Taylor who suffered a knock to the ankle after colliding with Darren Fletcher in Newcastle's 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Sunday has confirmed he will return to training in the next few days.

He said:

"I saw the England club doctor and, after he had examined my ankle, we both agreed that it would be too risky to play against Slovenia.

I had a scan on my ankle and there's nothing broken or anything like that. I should be back in training in the next couple of days and I'll be ready for Bolton."
