Midfielder James Milner looks set to return to action this weekend just in time for the derby match after spending 5 weeks sidelined with a foot injury. The Under 21 International returned to training today for the club & whilst manager Kevin Keegan looks set to field an identical team to that which grabbed a point from Portsmouth at the weekend, he implied Milner may be available for selection.
Keegan told the Sunderland Echo:
"James Milner will start training today. He's very fit, so he won't need any games.
He's not missed that much, to be fair, but he's naturally frustrated, and I don't know anyone who is working as hard as him to get fit."
If Milner features in the 139th Tyne-Wear derby game at the weekend, he may be get the opportunity to remind the crowd of his previous display against Sunderland earlier in the season, when he scored the equalising goal in the 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light.
