Takeover Confusion Continues

By Rich B
August 15 2012

Confusion continues today over the proposed take-over at Leeds United that has dominated the headlines across the summer.  Last week, Leeds United announced that although talks were ongoing, the period of exclusivity granted to one consortium has expired.

Social networks immediately sprung to life to say the deal was off and it looked like a bleak period for the club with fans completely disengaged with the chairman, however over the last few days, more positive soundbites have been heard from trusted sources.

LUST, the Leeds United Supporters Trust have confirmed they too are hearing good news and it would seem that a deal is very close.  Of course you add to that the rumours that Bates is in Leeds (the season does start on Saturday), a press conference was going to be called for 11am today (that time has passed), even a buy-back clause for Robert Snodgrass if the deal goes through (this one is too ridiculous!) and we are back to silly season.

Opening the club to offers from other interested parties does seem to have nudged things forward though and brought things to a head - and it seems that we will get some result by the end of this week - lets just hope it is the one we want.

Although none of this information has been confirmed by any hot-dog venders so please take with a pinch of salt!

How many weeks have been the week when things will happen??

I just have no excitement left for the takeover! I'm just looking forward to the start of the season (and Thailand) on Saturday! Can't wait!

We remain hopeful, but it is a much dimmed hope. Any move is better than the stagnation we have been in for the last seven years. Did I say stagnation. It can't be, with dipping into League One, A season with -15 points, pushing for playoffs in the first season back in the Championship, dipping into 14th place the next time round. No stagnation there, but with Ken Bates our Chairman, you think the world has come to an end.

Every week, it would seem.....so many people in the know, yet always coming up short( sorry Tony).

And yet, people seem to be enraged about the situation at Pompey, yet we could easily become similar victims one day if they had their way.
