We Have No Fear!!

Captain Neville and his usual battle cry ahead of the chelsea game...

Phil Neville says Everton have no fear ahead of Wednesday's game with Chelsea.

The Blues captain said Saturday's defeat to Liverpool did hold more hurt than most, but knows Everton are more than capable of posing the current league leaders a significant threat on Merseyside in two day's time.

"I don't think we should be frightened of anyone at the moment," Neville said. "We're playing well, we're full of confidence, and we’ve got a lot of players back fit and ready to play in the big games.

"Let’s look forward to them and not be fearful of them. We need to lick our wounds now, and get back to the training ground and look forward to Wednesday night."

“You've got to pick yourself up and get on with it," Neville added in reference to the 1-0 defeat at Anfield. "You've got to raise yourself for another massive game at Goodison on Wednesday night.

"Games are coming thick and fast at the moment and we can't be feeling sorry for ourselves and we've got to produce the same level of performance. We've been showing an outstanding level of performance in the Premier League and we can take a lot of positives on the run that we've been on.

"We've got a strong squad now, and one that is looking forward to the next month and playing in all these big games, because that what we play football for.”

One positive from Saturday’s game was an extended run-out for Mikel Arteta, the Spaniard playing for 50 minutes as he continues his return from serious injury.

"Mikel coming on meant we could dictate the game even more because he's probably one of our best ball players. We had large amounts of possession in the game," Neville continued. "But when we got in that final third when we needed a little bit of composure, maybe even a cross, we just didn't produce. We had still had chances, but we just didn't have enough quality.

"I think when a team goes down to 10 men they're probably harder to play against. You know that they are looking for maybe just a set-piece goal which is what they got. But we gave away maybe three or four set pieces just after half time so we played right into their hands and that's why we're disappointed.

Ye ok nev, just tell the lads not to bottle it like ya did in the derby hey!!!
