AS Airdrie 1 Tynecastle 1 


A point apiece in a match that was ruined by the heavy winds.a wind assisted strike from 60 yards by cooper with 5 mins left saved the day for airdrie after jordan had given tynecastle the lead moments before.

a squad of 15 today saw the manager make 2 changes to the team that lost to shawbridge with clark and cooper in for s graham and leishman and the side move back to their usual formation.

the first half saw airdrie battle into a gale force wind that made the game a lottery at times.chances were restricted with tynecastle missing the best of them when a lob from jordan went wide.rowan also had to look lively at his near post with a shot from 10 yards that was well saved.for airdrie no real chances although lindsay had 2 or 3 shots that didn,t trouble the keeper and shaw had a mazy run that was only lacking the final ball.ht 0-0

no changes and with airdrie having the wind a chance to put pressure on the away defence.pardoe,then shaw both missed good chances early on then jordan fired over the bar for tynecastle.gray than had airdrie,s best chance of the match when clean through from a goal kick(which you can,t be offside from)but his first touch was poor and it allowed the keeper to narrow the angle and save easily.as both teams pushed forward jordan again missed a chance,then gray forced the keeper into a decent save from a header.with 7 mins to go jordan put tynecastle in front when poor defending from clark and rowan allowed jordan to scramble the ball home from 8 yards.moments later airdrie drew level when a speculative ball from cooper landed inside the away box and flew by the keeper who was rooted to the spot(u had to see it 2 believe it).ft 1-1

on the balance of play and taking account the weather a draw was about right.chances for both sides,some talking points and another closely fought game between 2 sides who always have a good battle whether home or away.next up for airdrie is a home game against the defending champions blochairn
