Matt Confirms Deal

Ipswich Town midfielder Matt Richards has today signed the new contract that will keep him at Portman until the summer of 2009.

The 21-year-old has been offered a contract that will keep him at Portman Road until 2009 and he is delighted to have signed.

 

Matt: “Although my contract was up at the end of the season and there were a few clubs interested in me, I spoke to the manager and he outlined his plans for next season and beyond and it was more than enough to convince me to stay.

 

“We have had a pretty decent season and everyone is still focussed on making the play-offs, something we still think we can achieve.

 

“Promotion to the Premiership is definitely something I want to achieve in the next few seasons at the club and with the manager and the squad that we have, plus one or two additions, I am sure we will be there or thereabouts.”
