Owen Hoping For Happy New Year

Ipswich Town midfielder Owen Garvan is hoping that 2006 is a better year for him than 2005 turned out to be.

The 17-year-old midfielder was one the best points from Town’s early season woes, being hailed as a ready made replacement for Magilton but injury saw him out of action from mid-October until just last week when he returned to the first team squad for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday and now he is hoping to return to the first team pitch over the festive period.

 

“It's been a strange few months for me and the last couple have been hugely disappointing.

 

“At the start of the season, I couldn't believe how well things were going. To make 13 appearances - 11 of them in the starting line-up - has been terrific and I'm determined to build on that in 2006.

 

“The festive period is so busy and I'd love to think I'll get another chance in the team.”
