Westy Hoping To Play

Ipswich Town midfielder Ian Westlake hopes to be involved in Town’s game against Coventry on Saturday but admits there is competition for places and it will be hard to get in the team.

The 21-year-old midfielder damaged ligaments in his ankle back in September and returned to action for Town against Plymouth at the start of this month when he came on as a sub against Plymouth and now he is hoping he can force his way back into the Town first team by displacing one of the many midfielders currently available to Joe Royle.

Westy: It is a big squad now with a lot of good players so the first thing for me is to be in the squad.

“It is good to have the competition but hopefully I can be involved.

Hello Phil.

“Gavin (Williams) has looked good - really tidy and a good player, it will be good to play with him, if I'm in the team.”
