Joe Challenges Proudlock

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has challenged triallist Adam Proudlock to show he is worth a contract at Portman Road.

The 24-year-old striker was sacked by Sheffield Wednesday last month for breach of club rules, he will be training with Town this week and Joe Royle has challenged him to prove that he is worth putting on Town’s pay roll.

 

Royle:  “Adam will be with us initially for a week but maybe two depending on how it goes.

 

“I know what the player is but I need to have a long chat with him and find out what the personality is.

 

“The player could be a very useful addition and he fits in to our market, with no transfer value attached.

 

“He has got a slight taint over him with his departure from Sheffield Wednesday but I have to have a good talk with him and find out if he wants to do it and go on and be the player he should do.

 

“The challenge is there for him to get fit and show us that we need him.”
