Ipswich Town have appointed Anna Hughes and Andrew Goulborn to the board of directors at Portman Road.

Anna and Andrew were already employed by the club, Anna as the finance director and Andrew as the sales and marketing director.

Anna arrived at the club in January of this year, before arriving at Portman Road she worked as an independent consultant for Tate Modern, Cambridge University (joint venture with MIT), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and the British Museum.

Andrew has been with the club for just over a year and has worked for Omnicom and Saatchi & Saatchi before arriving at Town.

Chairman David Sheepshanks said: “We have an increasingly sophisticated and diverse organisation and these appointments are appropriate both from a business management and responsibility perspective.

“The composition of the Board in terms of executive and non-executive directors has a better balance and accurately reflects the way we operate. I am very pleased to welcome Anna and Andrew to the Board.”

Anna added: “I am very pleased to be asked to join the Board of directors. I see my role as being about giving the Club financial direction, about controlling our finances and about providing management information to all parts of the business about their performance - whether that is to the kit man or to the corporate sales team.

“With regard to my role on the Board, it is good practice that all organisations represent the finance function at board level because finance is pivotal to control, decision making and stability.”

Andrew added: “I am delighted and honoured to be joining the Board and look forward to playing my part in getting the Club back to the Premiership.

“This move recognises the importance of maximising commercial revenues in order to provide the strongest possible financial platform for the Club.”
