Team news and more for Ipswich Town’s final home league game of the season against Crewe Alexandra.

A win for Crewe could go a long way to securing their championship status for another season while nothing short of a win will do for Town in the hunt for second place.

Town manager Joe Royle has a doubt over on-loan Striker James Scowcroft while defensive pair Fabian Wilnis and David Unsworth have been passed fit. Young striker Dean McDonald has been included in the squad. Town midfielder Tommy Miller could make his 100th Town start tomorrow.

Town manager Joe Royle:“I've a few things to consider, generally our home form has been good this season and I've a couple of things in mind.

“Of course I have sympathy for Dario and Crewe, but he knows you are never relegated on one game, but over the 46 you play in a season.

“Rotherham were relegated because we beat them at Portman Road a few weeks back, but again it was on the strength of their results since August.

“Dario is another manager, like myself, who belongs to the 1,000 Club and his record with Crewe is fantastic. Invariably, if they have gone down, they have come back up again.”

“When a team hasn't won in a long time, in my view that makes them dangerous.”

Town Squad: Darren Bent, Pablo Couñago, Darren Currie, Kelvin Davis, Jason De Vos, Drissa Diallo, Kevin Horlock, Shefki Kuqi, Jim Magilton, Dean McDonald, Tommy Miller, Richard Naylor, Lewis Price, James Scowcroft, David Unsworth, Ian Westlake, Fabian Wilnis.

Crewe Boss Dario Gardi could have up too six players missing for tomorrows match: Colin Murdock (groin), Steve Jones (hamstring), Adie Moses and Billy Jones are doubts while Anthony Tonkin (illness) and Chris McCready (knee) are both likely to miss out.

Dario Gardi: “We have one or two out but we are alright. Everyone gets injuries and that is why it is important to have good players who can come into the side. Everyone has been focussing on this game and not having a mid-week game also make a huge difference.

“I think the lads have done as much as they can do in training this week and although Ipswich are heavy favourites and are expected to win tomorrow, I'm confident that we have it in us to create some chances.

“I had a horrible Saturday and Sunday after the Stoke defeat but after taking training at the start of the week again, I was encouraged by the players. I felt better because the players have that belief in what we are trying to do and how we want to approach the game.

“We played well in the first half against Stoke and if we had taken our chances then we could have gone in two or three goals up. We didn't take them and that is always the most important thing. We have to be more clinical in front of goal, especially against a side like Ipswich when we expect to be doing more defending than attacking.

“I'm not the kind of guy who says he is confident when he is not and I can only go on what I see from the players. They have trained with confidence all week and if we can take that into the game then we have a chance of getting a result.”

Towns FA Youth Cup winning side will get the chance to parade the FA Youth cup during Half-Time in the match. When Town do kick-off they will know what they need to do to stay in touch with or over take second placed Wigan who take on Preston in 12:15 kick-off.
