Ipswich Town defender Fabian Wilnis is hoping that he has done enough to be offered a new contract for next season.
The 34-year-old defender who is closing in on 250 appearances in a Town shirt hopes that Saturday’s game against Crewe is not his last at Portman Road as his contract expire at the end of May.
Wilnis: “I've been happy with the way I've been playing this season and I think the manager has been too so I'm hopeful of earning a new deal, at this stage it's just a case of waiting to see what division we are in really and we'll have to see what happens.
“I'd love to stay for at least another year though and it would be great if that was in the Premiership.”
Wilnis has been at Portman Road since 1999 when he joined from Dutch side de Graafschap.
