Royle’s Reaction: Leeds

Reaction from Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle following Towns 1-1 draw with Leeds United at Elland Road earlier today.

Royle: “That is what disappointed me as much as anything, the fact that we let them score straight after our goal, we have players in our team who don't defend when we don't have the ball. Sunderland are going up because they have 11 who defend when they need to.

“That said, we had enough chances to have won the game easily. Shefki had a great chance, Darren had another late on and we had shots blocked and other near misses.

“They had one effort at goal and scored from it so it's definitely an opportunity missed.

“That's football. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else in that position.

“The lad has got two great feet and is a lovely striker of the ball and normally would have put that in the back of the net.

“We have two games left now and have to win both of them and hope Wigan drop three points along the way.”
