Ipswich Town loanee Danny Karbassiyoon says he wants to play his part while on loan at Portman Road after giving up his Christmas.

The 20-year-old defender joined Town for a month from premiership champions Arsenal and wants to play his part while he’s here.

Karbassiyoon: “Arsenal told me I could have two weeks off and go home for a holiday, I was getting ready to go when I got the call that Ipswich wanted me here.

“Playing football is why I came to this country. It's the job I want to do so although people were disappointed back home that I couldn't spend Christmas there, they understood.

“It's a good move for me, coming here to Ipswich. Hopefully I can get some first-team experience and although it all depends on how long I am here, my target is to get into the team and hold down a regular place in the side.”
